We recommend this style ISCG-05 Adapter Plate with all of our frames. We were asked numerous times to omit this feature from the frame but some of you love it. Welding on a steel plate ruins the BB shell threads.
This is the best compromise as these plates are rigid plus they won’t damage your frame finish verus when welded on mounts are bashed in. This takes place of one of the spacers on your bottom bracket bearing set.
