Handmade Chromoly Steel Full Suspension, by Experienced Riders, for all Riders

Our 2020 NV Chromoly Enduro Mountain Bike Frame is like a downhill bike that pedals up really well. We tune your shock for maximum pedal efficiency so hopefully you still have energy left after going up for the fun part, going downhill. Made for 73mm BSA bottom bracket, 148mm boost, internal cable routing dropper seat posts, tapered forks. All your modern trail bike specs in a more progressive package.

Our 2020 Frame incorporates a new rear triangle design featuring modern asymmetry, slider dropouts and optimized tubing that allows the rear end to be supremely compliant and adjustable for the wheel/tire combination of your choice.

Slider Dropouts enable fine tuning of rear wheel adjustment due to wildly variable tire manufacturer sizing measurements. We thought ahead and found a solution to fitment of your favorite size wheels and tires without sacrificing anything you’d love in a chromoly steel frame.

From our years of experience with many other bikes, finding what we loved and disliked, they always left us with a bigger dislike list than love list. They did a satisfactory job but we wanted a bike that blew all the others away. This was the motivation for the NV chromoly steel full suspension frame, the best of what we loved with the added bonus of our features that we wished we had.

Why Chromoly? Chromoly is much stronger than traditional steel and aluminum alloys. Heat treated Chromoly like what we use in our mountain bike frames is even stronger than commercial/common grade titanium with a slight weight penalty. Chromoly has a high strength to weight ratio and high tensile strength, which means we can use less material and achieve a product that can withstand the abuse that MTB endures without breaking easily. Ride safe though, we can’t be held responsible for your new found feel of steel, ride at your own risk, ride responsible. There are a lot of factors involved when it comes to mountain bike frame design and some of the most important factors are weight, strength and cost. Our heat treated chromoly tubing is a material that offers high strength without an excessive weight or price tag.

Most people looking to buy our frame will have their minds made up on chromoly and prefer this material for their next frame but if you’re curious, here are some of the advantages you’ll hear from experienced riders:

Chromoly tubing for a mountain bike is very thin yet incredibly strong, it has an inherent flex that people strive for in order to reduce vibrations translated to their hands and feet which works to reduce rider fatigue and increase rider comfort. Ride longer, more comfortably and much harder. Slight flex in the rear keeps the wheel planted in sharp hard turns keeping you on two wheels.
Chromoly’s strength to weight ratio rivals that of titanium yet it’s more affordable. Rest easy knowing what you’ve accepted as norm, steel is strong, imagine a high tech lighter weight yet stronger alloy of steel being made into a frame for your next mountain bike. There are pluses and minuses for every known material being made into a mountain bike frame but welded seems, not glued, is something we personal feel is more safe and secure. Metal melted to metal, not piece, glued to piece. Fancy marketing words will lead you to believe other materials are “one solid piece” (“Monocoque”) but research shows that’s misleading, its multiple segments glued together into one piece which is strong for only a very short lifespan.
Chromoly mountain bike frames possess a natural flex that absorbs sounds. While not completely silent when contact is made with rocks or other roost, the ride is very stately feeling. Focus on the path ahead, not nuisances.

1 review for NV 29er | 170mm Rear Travel | Chromoly Steel Full Suspension Enduro MTB Frame

I’ll start by saying steel is real! I have always been on a steel hardtail until I ordered this frame and it is amazing! currently running a 170mm bomber up front with 29” wheel and 27.5 out back and this thing handles like a trail bike and smashes rough terrain like a DH bike! The build quality is exceptional and looks sick too. All in all i could not be happier.
